In cats, there is a type of fungus called M canis which accounts for nearly 95% of all cases of ringworm. Cats usually get ringworm from contaminated items such as bedding, scissors, or other animals that have the disease. If you have kittens or cats under one year old in your home. You always have to be careful. Because they are more prone to ringworm. Kittens are prone to disease. Especially if left outside. They can easily come into contact with contaminated objects or other cats that are sick. Kittens take a long time to build up their immune systems. and meanwhile Kittens are also more susceptible to common ailments like ringworm.

The most common symptom of ringworm in cats is rough or torn hair. or hair loss on the head or legs Ringworm is easy to recognize by the scaly skin on the body that feels itchy and inflamed. There will be broken hairs around the skin, scaly patches. This area is very sensitive and you should not try to touch it. as it may injure your cat.

If you notice any of the above symptoms with your pet. You should make an appointment with the vet immediately. If your vet diagnoses your cat with ringworm he may prescribe an ointment or pills. What he describes will determine how severe the eczema is. If he prescribes pills for your cat you must feed them with food. Cream, on the other hand, spreads in a coat. You should use what your vet has prescribed each day to ensure your cat recovers. The healing process will take time. Usually about six weeks or so.

Cats with ringworm must be registered as contagious. If you have children at home you must keep children away from your pets. Whenever you catch a cat you should always wear gloves.
